Young Fathers
YF comprise Ally, Kayus and G three twenty year olds from Edinburgh. They came together five years ago after meeting at an under 18 hip hop club night. Their first recordings were made in a bedroom cupboard using a plastic microphone from Argos, £10 music software and a karaoke machine.
Initially, the group bonded through their love of hip hop and clubs along with a drive to fuse other elements into their music.
All three grew up listening to Soul, Reggae, African music and Pop. And all these elements are very deeply embedded into their music. However all of them listen to anything and everything, (As long as it excites).
YF will cite new and old school influences, hit records, hardcore thrash and thumb sucking cheesy 90's Pop. Though their hearts are at home within their "baby-mother". ‘The underground club scene‘.
But - Temptation is something which causes them to ‘play away’ with the "fast and easy" pop lifestyle. Thus ‘Young Fathers’ are the sons of hip hop who were born to explore and travel the galaxy. |

Big Linda
The story of Big Linda is the story of rock ‘n’ roll itself. It involves circumstance and intrigue. It involves an extraordinary trip to Antigua and a very real person called Big Linda. And it also involves four ever-more real characters who met under a cloud of coincidence and just knew they had to be together.

Susannah Cork
"I was signed to 24/7 Management – just before studying A levels in Cambridge and, two years later, finished college and began work on the debut album. Through 2008 I travelled and wrote and developed the tracks for the album and, after he returned from Monaco producing Julian Lennon’s latest release, am now recording at Tim Ellis’ studio in sunny old Brighton as we speak! I’ll put up some free downloads for you on my myspace page –– and I’d love to hear your comments. It’s coming together and all sounding pretty exciting!
We should finish the album by the autumn and will then put it on Itunes. Check out my gigs, it would be fab to see you there and, if you do come along, make sure you grab me and say hey.
It’s really time for me to get this thing on the road now and I can’t wait." |
